The Philosophy

Where History
Meets the Screen

Welcome to the Shebeke Short Film Festival, an international cinema event held in the heart of the ancient Silk Road: Sheki, Azerbaijan.

Our festival takes its name and inspiration from the unique art of "Shebeke"—the intricate stained-glass windows created by assembling thousands of small glass and wooden pieces without a single drop of glue or a single nail.

We believe cinema reflects this very art form. It requires bringing together thousands of distinct frames, sounds, and emotions to create one magnificent story. When the light shines through, the magic happens.
